In the tornado of urbanization, it is turning out that personal space is a premium and as the population becomes denser, the idea of having a hanging garden from your balcony or terrace is a feasible and easy solution to apply for providing much needed shade and a quiet space.

Climbing plants are suited for this type of garden because they are not expensive and can be set in a flexible arrangement. They are carefully selected in species. Plants and trees for the garden on the terrace can be arranged in an aesthetic and logical way that, and if done nicely, resembles an art installation.

and a terra-cotta jar – all set by the house side will create
an ordinary and nature-like environment.

Plants for the hanging gardens are mostly of two species, i.e. those that are abundant with leaves or rich with beautiful, fragrant flowers. Enthusiastic terrace gardeners like to change the flowers they grow according to when they come into full bloom, mixing them with their leafy cousins, resulting in a colourful space all year round.

A hanging flower garden can have a leafy trellis and flower baskets of various species such as Indonesian chrysanthemum, laurel, orchid, honeysuckle, etc. which help create a charming image for the garden and at the same time retain its natural beauty.

When setting up a hanging garden, one should pay attention to the technical conditions because the plants on the terrace will be under direct sunlight, so the plants must be resistant to the sunny or windy weather. A net or artificial flowers can be used to provide shade to the flower baskets of the hanging garden, reducing the heat that damages the plants.

To build a hanging frame, different kinds of materials can be used, including steel, iron and wood, each having its own beauty. A wooden frame is often chosen by the garden owner because of its strength, elegance and natural appearance. Other construction materials can be used such as raw bricks, stone plates, pebbles, etc. which highlight the harmony between the green space and the garden's area.

When arranging the plants, the owner can decorate his garden with miniatures, such as a small man-made lake, a set of table and chairs, or a small swing in the corner of the terrace. Any items made from wood should be constructed of pest-resistant industrial wood.

After a long working day, returning home to relax in your garden will help relieve tension and stress as you sit back and take in your green, wholesome environment. The hanging garden is really an ideal place for the whole family to be together while living in the urban crowded city.
