During a questioning session of the Hanoi People's Council on July 3, deputies expressed concerns about the city's lack of recreational spaces. They highlighted the prolonged delays of many park projects.

Updates were requested from the leaders of Ha Dong and Cau Giay districts regarding the Ha Dong Cultural, Recreational, and Sports Park project and the CV1 Regulating Lake Park project in Cau Giay District.

Ms. Can Thi Viet Ha, Chairwoman of the Ha Dong District People's Committee, said that the Ha Dong Park project, spanning 92 hectares, has been approved by the district's People's Council. It is classified as a Group B project and a level-1 construction.

To date, the district has completed land clearance for 52 hectares, which is temporarily used to prevent wastage.

The project will be implemented in two phases. The first phase involves infrastructure development, including ground leveling, lake embankment, water supply for fire protection, and some public facilities.

The second phase will potentially utilize public investment or seek socialization for additional components like sports arenas and a Ferris wheel.

Currently, the architectural design competition results have been approved, and feasibility studies and construction planning are underway.

Ha noted that 40 hectares of agricultural land still need to be cleared in the first phase. Approval from the city and the Prime Minister is required to convert rice fields and issue land acquisition notices. Environmental impact assessment documents have been submitted to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for appraisal.

Initially approved by the former Ha Tay Province in 1998, the Ha Dong Park project covers about 98 hectares in Ha Cau and Kien Hung wards. After the merger of Ha Tay and Hanoi, the Hanoi People's Committee assigned Ha Dong District to implement the project, which includes a 25.18-hectare sports complex, a 52.87-hectare cultural and green park, and the 11.34-hectare Booyoung Kien Hung International Residential and Commercial Center.

Regarding the CV1 Regulating Lake Park project, located in Cau Giay and Nam Tu Liem districts, Mr. Bui Tuan Anh, Chairman of the Cau Giay District People's Committee, stated that the project covers approximately 27 hectares, with over 6 hectares in Cau Giay District.

Land clearance has been completed, and the project has been handed over to the investor. Most components are nearly complete, with only drainage and connections to the park gate remaining, which are related to two separate projects.

The Cau Giay District People's Committee is inspecting the completed works for acceptance and handover.
