VietNamNet Bridge – Hanoi, HCM City and Quang Ninh collected three golds on the first competition day of diving at the National Sports Games yesterday at My Dinh Water Sports Stadium.

In the men’s 3m synchronized diving, Phuong The Anh and Vu Anh Duy from Hanoi took a gold with 271.11 points. The silver went to Duong Van Thanh and Nguyen Tung Duong from Hai Phong while Nguyen Dang Khuong and Phung Van Nam from Quang Ninh took bronze.

In the women’s synchronized diving, Nguyen Vu Thao Quyen and Nguyen Vu Thao Quynh from HCM City took gold with 208.77 points.

Ngo Phuong Mai - Nguyen Phuong Anh from Hanoi were runners-up, followed by Hoang Hong Phuong and Mai Hong Hanh from Quang Ninh.

In the men’s 1m springboard, Phung Van Nam from Quang Ninh Province took gold with 285.48 points, followed by Duy and Duong.

In badminton, Hanoi beat the Military team 3-2 in the first semi-finals of the men’s doubles, whilst HCM City beat People’s Public Security 3-0.

Hanoi will meet HCM City in the final.

In the women’s doubles, Bac Giang beat Hanoi 3-0 and Thai Binh overcame Da Nang 3-1.

The singles event will start tomorrow.

In handball, Hanoi’s men beat Da Nang 35-17 and Yen Bai 32-22, while Hanoi’s women beat Binh Dinh 35-15.

They will face HCM City on November 21.
