Among them are renowned names such as Cung Khac Luoc, Nguyen The Anh, Nguyen The Luc, Nguyen Nhu Phach, and Nguyen Minh Chau, said Truong Minh Tien, Vice Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, on January 16.

They include 67 calligraphers selected from previous festivals. The ten others were selected after evaluation by the organisers ahead of the festival.

This year, calligraphers will set up in the yard in front of the Literature Lake.

Along with calligraphy, an exhibition featuring traditional trade villages and intangible cultural heritages and children’s drawing contest will be held.

This is the second time the festival has been held at the Literature Lake instead of along the sidewalks outside the Temple to ensure order along the street and maintain the beauty of the monument.

Writing calligraphy is popular for local people during Tet. The festival aims to welcome the New Year and promote the Vietnamese tradition.
