VietNamNet Bridge - To realize a civilized lifestyle in organizing weddings, the Hanoi Party Committee has set the maximum number of guests that officials and Party members are allowed to invite to their or their relatives’ wedding parties at 300 and cancelled the previous restriction of less than 50 party tables.

The instruction has been signed and issue by Hanoi Party Secretary Pham Quang Nghi.

According to the Hanoi Party Committee, there is still a part of the population, state officials and party members, including key leaders at all levels who organize ostentatious, extravagant, wasteful weddings, stirring up the public opinion, negatively affecting the reputation of officials, party members and the mission and the goal of building elegant and civilized Hanoians.

Therefore, the Committee requested the authorities at all levels to continue to promote propaganda and mobilization of officials, party members and the people to voluntarily, positively implement the civilized lifestyle, particularly in organizing weddings.

Officials and party members, especially leaders and managers at all levels in Hanoi must be examples and pioneers in implementing the above instruction, conducting the wedding ceremony to the spirit "playful - healthy – thrifty."

According to the instruction, the number of guests invited to the wedding party must be no more than 300 people. If the two families hold a joint wedding party, the total number of guests must not exceed 600 people.

Also, officials and Party members are not allowed to organize weddings many times, in many days and at 5-star hotels or luxury resorts. They are encouraged to send wedding announcement cards instead of organizing wedding parties.

The Hanoi Party Committee also assigned the Inspection Commission to supervise the implementation of the instruction among officials and party members.
