Colonel Pham Trung Hieu, Head of the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department (Hanoi Police), told a conference on December 26 to review fire prevention and rescue tasks in the capital city. There are a total of 1,538 karaoke parlors, bars and discos in Hanoi.

Of which, 733 establishments are managed by police agencies, and 805 are managed by commune-level People's Committees. So far, the functional forces have inspected 100% of karaoke establishments, bars and discos across the city.

After the inspections, the authorities imposed fines on 423 cases, totaling over 4.6 billion VND, temporarily suspended 571 establishments and suspended 568 others.

Colonel Pham Trung Hieu said Hanoi's functional forces should continue to strengthen supervision of the suspension, and stop operation of karaoke parlors, bars and discos that violate rules on fire prevention and control.

Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Le Hong Son told units to continue following the direction of the government and the city on fire prevention and rescue work  and review chairs of communes who did not direct State management functions well in the locality, and did not organize firefighting and rescue work at the initial stage when a fire or explosion occurred in their localities.
