According to the indictments, Vu Quang Thuan, 52, from Thai Binh Province, Nguyen Van Dien, 35, from Yen Bai Province, and Tran Hoang Phuc, 24, from HCM City, were found guilty of making and uploading 17 video clips to social networks on the internet as well as storing many documents with defamatory content of the people’s administration between October 2016 and March 2017. They were also found to fabricate and distort the truth about the leadership of the Party and the direction of the State in the process of building, developing and defending the country.

The court yesterday decided that all of the above actions of the defendants aimed at disseminating, provoking and appealing against the State of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, causing panic among people and provoking negative thoughts against the country.

The court upheld the prison sentences from the previous court, of Thuan to eight years, Dien six and a half years and Phuc six years.
