Hoang Vu Samson scored twice, while Pham Thanh Luong scored once for Ha Noi.

Since the first minute of the match, the hosts HCM City had the chance to open the scoring, after a cross from the left wing by striker Dyachenko Rodion Sergey, only for Nguyen Trong Phi to send his header to hit the bar after beating the goalkeeper.

In the 21th minute, Sergey’s shot in the penalty area hit a Ha Noi defender.

Finally, after receiving a pass from Nguyen Quang Hai, midfielder Luong opened the scoring for Ha Noi in the 32nd minute.

Samson doubled the score on the 45th minute, giving the visitors a 2-0 lead.

After the break, the hosts continuously attacked and narrowed the gap after Hoang Phuong scored with a volley in the 70th minute, to make the score 1-2.

In the 74th minute, Nguyen Dai Dong of Ha Noi received a yellow card after tackling one of the hosts’ players.

In the 80th minute, the striker Samson shot past goalkeeper Dinh Xuan Viet to increase the lead to 3-1.

The hosts tried their best in the final minutes, but they failed to score.

In another match, Hoang Anh Gia Lai tied 1-1 with Sai Gon FC.

“The whole team played well. My players created many chances to score goals, but they couldn’t take them. However, I am satisfied with this result,” said coach Nguyen Quoc Tuan from Hoang Anh Gia Lai.

“Today, I selected Nguyen Cong Phuong to play in midfield, rather than his usual position as striker. He made many creative passes and played the match well,” Tuan added.

Elsewhere, Sanna Khanh Hoa tied with Can Tho 2-2, while Quang Nam crushed Quang Ninh Coal 3-1, and SHB Da Nang defeated Hai Phong 2-0.
