The match saw Hoang successfully make a great save as Urawa were awarded a penalty after defender Dao Van Nam handled the ball inside the box.
Along with the penalty save, the 28-year-old goalkeeper also showed some excellent reflexes to save Hanoi FC from many shots in the first half. His performance was the main positive for Hanoi, as they were completely outmatched by the defending champions.
The win helped Hanoi conclude their run in the AFC Champions League (ACL) in third position in their group, whilst Urawa were also eliminated.
On its official Facebook page, the AFC posted a video featuring the best saves made by Hoang in the match, stressing that he enjoyed an ACL debut to remember.
The local goalkeeper joined Hanoi FC earlier this season. Before the fixture, he had not played a single minute for the club as Quan Van Chuan and Bui Tan Truong were the first and second goalkeeper choices.
