Hanoi Flower Market busy ahead of Vietnamese Women’s Day
Quang Ba, as the capital’s largest wholesale flower market, has over the past few days welcomed a surge in customers flocking to find the prettiest flowers ahead of Vietnamese Women's Day which falls on October 20 annually.
The market’s busiest hours are usually between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. every day when wholesalers arrive with fresh flowers.
Many retailers also head to Quang Ba Market for domestic supplies.
A trader says that an increasing number of customers arrive at the market as Vietnamese Women's Day draws close.
Prices of flowers are said to increase twice or three times compared to normal days, according to traders.
There is a wide range of choice on offer for buyers at the market.
Roses prove to be the most popular flowers, with a bouquet of 50 roses priced at up to VND350,000.
The market gathers a variety of flowers together, most of which have been brought from localities across the country such as Son La, Vinh Phuc, and Sa Pa in the north, and Da Lat in the Central Highland region.
Quang Ba is the largest wholesale flower market in the north which is typically crowded at night.
The market makes up an ideal check-in spot for many young people to enjoy.
Late at night the flower market becomes more crowded and increasingly bustling.
