VietNamNet Bridge – On April 1, Hanoi police arrested two men who are accused of “making unlawful arrest,” who forced their debtor to put his face into a feces bucket.

They are Nguyen Hoang Khanh, 27, from Ba Dinh district and Hoang Hong Phuc, 29, from Long Bien district, Hanoi.

According to investigation, a man in Thanh Xuan district, named Truong Phi Cuong, 27, borrowed VND200 million ($10,000) of Nguyen Cao Cuong, 27, in Dong Da district. Being unable to pay the debt, Cuong fled.

On March 29, detecting Truong Phi Cuong at a restaurant on Huynh Thuc Khang Road, Nguyen Cao Cuong called Phuc and Khanh to the restaurant to arrest Cuong and took him to a house on Lang Ha Street, Hanoi.

In the early morning of March 31, Phuc, Khanh and six others who are friends of Nguyen Cao Cuong took Truong Phi Cuong to the garden of a friend of Nguyen Cao Cuong in Ha Dong district. They forced the debtor to kneel down and put his face into a fences bucket then beating him.

After that, they forced the man to wade through a nearby lake for several rounds.

The group took the debtor back to the house on Lang Ha Street at 7am on March 31 and they were arrested at 10.30 pm the same day.
