VietNamNet Bridge - Major General Doan Duy Khuong, Assistant to the Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang, has been appointed the Director of the Hanoi Police Agency, replacing Major General Nguyen Duc Chung, who is now Hanoi’s chairman.

The appointment ceremony took place on Mach 16

Khuong, 56, was a native from Nam Dinh Province. He joined the police force in 1977.

Khuong worked for 20 years in the Police Agency of Nam Dinh Province. During 15 years working at the headquarters of the Ministry of Public Security, Khuong was the the secretary and assistant to Minister Tran Dai Quang most of the time.

At the ceremony, Khuong pledged to do his utmost to fulfill all assigned tasks, with the first to ensure security and safety for the upcoming election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils for 2016-2021, along with other major political, cultural and social events in the year.

Earlier, at the 14th session of the Hanoi People's Council held in early December 2015, Major General Nguyen Duc Chung, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Director of the Hanoi Police Agency, was elected as Hanoi’s Chairman.

After taking office as the Chairman of the capital city, Chung was concurrently the Director of the city police agency.
