The capital city’s representatives won 11 gold medals while the host athletes pocketed 12.

On the last day of competition, Nguyen Thi Van Ha of Ha Noi triumphed in all three events in the women’s 75kg -- snatch, clean & jerk and total.

Tran Van Hoa pocketed three gold medals in the men’s 94kg -- the last category for HCM City. It was his 11th victory in a row at the annual national tournament.

Earlier, Hanoians Vuong Thị Huyen, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai, Nguyen Thi Thuy and Nguyen Thi Van pocketed gold medals for Ha Noi while SEA Games medalists Thach Kim Tuan, Hoang Tan Tai and Nguyen Hong Ngoc claimed nine titles for HCM City.

The tournament also saw five new national records.

Leading athletes from the tournament will be summoned to prepare for the world championship in the United States next month.
