The 4.25 km Vo Chi Cong Road connects the south of Nhat Tan Bridge with Tay Ho and Cau Giay districts, while the 10.5km Vo Nguyen Giap Road links the north of the bridge to Noi Bai International Airport, passing through Dong Anh and Me Linh districts. The 10km Vo Van Kiet Street connects Thang Long Bridge and Noi Bai Airport.
The roads add to the transportation system serving the airport and contribute to the economic development of northern Ha Noi.
At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the revolutionary activities of the influential figures as well as their great contributions to the Vietnamese Party and State in the cause of nation-building and defence.
Vo Chi Cong served as President of the State Council and Chairman of the National Defence Council. Vo Van Kiet was Prime Minister and made major contributions to the renewal process. General Vo Nguyen Giap was an eminent disciple of President Ho Chi Minh and the first General and Commander-in-Chief of the Viet Nam People's Army.
Director of the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism To Van Dong said the naming of the roads not only showed the tribute of the capital's Party, government and people to the former leaders but also educated younger generations about the national patriotic tradition, bolstering national pride.
