VietNamNet Bridge – Senior officials at all levels (commune, district, province) in the capital city must declare their income and assets, according to a new decision of the Hanoi People’s Committee.

 

 

 

Officials at government, State and Party agencies and social organizations, officials of communes, districts and municipal agencies, directors and deputy directors of state-owned institutes, directors and chief of wards as well as major doctors at hospitals are the subjects of the new decision.

 

Directors and members of the executive boards, chief accountants and department managers at state-owned or state-invested firms and at project management units must also declare their assets and income.

 

These people must declare their assets on an annual basis. The reports will be archived and clarified annually. Officials will be punished if they don’t make the declaration or submit an untruthful declaration.

 

The decision will take effect on November 5 2010.
