On October 6, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, in collaboration with Vietcontent and Matchroom, announced the third season of the Hanoi Open Pool Championship. The event will take place from December 7 at the My Dinh Indoor Athletics Arena.

After two successful editions, the Hanoi Open has become one of the most anticipated tournaments on the World Nineball Tour calendar.

This year’s championship will feature 256 competitors, including 128 top-ranked players from the World Nineball Tour  -  representing the elite of global billiards.

Among the big names are defending champion Johann Chua, World Pool Champion Carlo Biado, Grand Slam winner Fedor Gorst, as well as Jayson Shaw, Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, Aloysius Yapp, Mickey Krause, and rising talent Albert AJ Manas.

Out of the 256 cueists from 40 countries, Vietnam will field 68 representatives, including 40 who advanced through the qualifying rounds. Leading the home contingent is Duong Quoc Hoang, currently in excellent form and expected to be a strong contender for the title on home turf.

Alongside the main event, the Hanoi Junior Open  -  a companion tournament for young players under 17  -  will also take place, featuring 64 participants from around the world.

Ahead of the competition, the organizing committee announced that 100 million VND (approximately $3,900) from ticket sales will be donated to support flood and storm victims, as part of a charitable initiative led by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports.
