Foreign tourists will be charmed by an unique circus show entitled Lang Toi (My Village) at Hanoi Opera House on July 16.
It will be held every Monday and Tuesday at 6pm, allowing the local people and tourists to enjoy one of the most successful circus performances by Vietnamese artists.
Lang Toi is the brainchild of three artistes, Nguyen Nhat Ly, Nguyen Lan and Le Ngoc Tuan Anh. Built around Vietnam’s typical history and culture, Lang Toi creates a pleasant, lively and poetic journey to a typical Vietnamese village via an image familiar to every Vietnamese, bamboo trees.
During the 2009-2012 period, 300 performances of Lang Toi were held in France, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium, besides Egypt and Spain.
Following the global trend, Lang Toi is planned in the form of a ‘new circus’ in which traditional circus skills are performed, supported by light effects and music to present a specific story and characters.
