Update news Hanoi pedestrian streets
Hanoi Vice Chairman Chu Xuan Dung has agreed with the proposal of Hoan Kiem district to reopen Hoan Kiem pedestrian street from March 12. The Huong (Perfume) pagoda will also open one day later.
Numerous residents of the capital could be spotted not wearing face masks in public areas around Hoan Kiem Lake on the first day of the reopening of the pedestrian streets, despite the ongoing threat of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Despite bars, nightclubs, and karaoke venues in Hanoi being granted permission to re-open as of September 16, many were quiet on their first night back.
The Hanoi authorities have decided to temporarily close its pedestrian streets in the Old Quarter as of midnight August 21 in an effort to minimize large gatherings on weekends to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic.
