Police officers were seen at the building on 18 Tam Trinh Street, Hanoi  -  the headquarters of Nguyen Hoa Binh’s company  -  on the night of October 6.

The Hanoi Police Department is working with Nguyen Hoa Binh, widely known as Shark Binh, to clarify information allegedly connected to the AntEx cryptocurrency project, according to sources from VietNamNet on October 7.

During a press briefing on October 6, Colonel Nguyen Duc Long, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Police Department, confirmed that his unit had received reports concerning AntEx, a cryptocurrency project that has recently attracted public attention following claims of investor losses.

He noted that social media and several news outlets had published information suggesting that many individuals lost money after investing in AntEx, and that there were mutual accusations between Mr. Binh and the AntEx development team.

Following these reports, both the Ministry of Public Security and Hanoi Police initiated investigations. The initial inquiry has so far received one official complaint involving an alleged loss of around USD 2,000.

Around 10 p.m. on October 6, several police officers were present at 18 Tam Trinh Street, where Mr. Binh’s company is based. More officers arrived later in both official (blue) and civilian (white) vehicles.

The operation lasted for more than four hours, during which a number of company employees were reportedly present. By about 3 a.m. on October 7, the police left the building, accompanied by several individuals. Witnesses said one man wearing dark clothing and a cap was escorted away by the task force.

Deputy Director Nguyen Duc Long emphasized that the police are reviewing all submitted complaints, and that no individual or organization will be exempt from investigation.

“All crime reports will be received and handled in accordance with the law, with no exceptions and no ‘restricted zones,’” he said.

The Hanoi Police have instructed specialized divisions to continue verifying information related to the AntEx project and Mr. Binh’s role, if any.
