VietNamNet Bridge – The Police Department for Environmental Crime Prevention and Hanoi police on Tuesday morning detected a smuggling case of three tons of cats from China in Dong Da District in Hanoi.

The police seized a truck from Quang Ninh Province with hundreds of cats, totaling about three tons, without quarantine and origin documents, at midnight on January 27, on Son Tay Street.

The driver and the owner of the cats was Hoang Van Hieu, 30 years old, a resident of Quang Phong commune, Hai Ha district, Quang Ninh province.

Hieu said the cats originate from China and he bought them in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province, which borders China.
