VietNamNet Bridge – Ha Noi Police have busted an online soccer betting ring allegedly led by Nguyen Ngoc Quang, 39, who resides in Dong Da District’s Trung Liet Ward.

Quang and six other people suspected of involvement in the case have been arrested.

Initial investigation has found that Quang coordinated with a number of professional gamblers to organise betting before the 2016 European Championship. He was granted a betting account on website Bong88.com that allows betting on up to VND2 billion (US$89,580)

Quang hired Vu Dinh Thang, 30, who lives in Dong Da District, to divide the account into 18 smaller ones for use by gamblers. Thang was also tasked with taking the bets from gamblers and paying out their wins. He was paid VND7 million (US$313) a month.
