Transport Minister should try bus service, readers say

The committee, after that, has instructed competent agencies to survey and research the actual situation to make comments on the Ministry of Transport’s draft document prior to October 25.
It is estimated to have around 350,000 kindergarten, 500,000 primary and 320,000 secondary students in Hanoi.
In addition, there are nearly 478,900 students of colleges and universities located inner the city, especially in Cau Giay and Dong Da District, with 13 colleges each, and Thanh Xuan and Hai Ba Trung districts, with six colleges each.
At the same time, the city has 202,966 public servants of central agencies and 152,294 at Hanoi’s state agencies.
In order to curb gridlocks, the Ministry of Transport proposes to change working and studying time in Hanoi. Specifically, public servants at central agencies will work from 9-12am and 1-6pm; Hanoi’s public servants will work from 8.30-12am and 1-5.30am.
Primary and junior secondary students will be at school from 8am-5.30pm while high school students will study in two shift, 7am-11am and 12.30pm-4.30pm.
The starting and closing time at school for university students in Ca Giay, Dong Da, Thanh Xuan and Hai Ba Trung will be changed.

The Ministry of Transport said that the working and studying time will be changed scientifically to not affect the living rhythm of public servants and students.
The draft regulation on changing working time will be submitted to the government for approval this week. If it is ratified, the regulation will be applied immediately in the entire city.
Regarding the worry that many kindergarten students will not be picked up quickly because their parents’ working time is changed, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang said this fact must be accepted because this number of people is not high.
“We cannot change the working time to only serve kindergarten students. Every decision will have adverse impacts but we must accept it. Changing working time is an urgent job because gridlock is so terrible now,” Thang said.
