Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Duyet, Commander of the Hanoi Capital Command, signed a proposal submitted to the Hanoi People's Committee, suggesting that fireworks be limited to a single location in Hoan Kiem district.

This reduction is intended to focus efforts on supporting those affected by the devastation caused by Typhoon Yagi and contributing to the recovery of heavily impacted areas.

The fireworks display at Hoan Kiem Lake is scheduled to take place from 9:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. on October 10. The number of fireworks shells planned for this event will remain the same as outlined in the city’s original June 2024 plan.

The initial plan called for 30 fireworks displays across 30 districts and towns, including one high-altitude show combined with low-altitude fireworks and pyrotechnics, eight displays featuring both high and low-altitude fireworks, and 22 low-altitude fireworks shows.

However, the Hanoi Capital Command has proposed that the remaining 29 districts and towns forgo their planned displays to prioritize resources for disaster recovery.
