Consequently, multiple manufacturers are maintaining steep discount programs to lure buyers.

VietNamNet has found that the electric motorbike market is showing clear signs of slowing down as Hanoi has not banned personal gasoline motorbikes from entering the low-emission zone from July 1.

Many dealers said the number of customers inquiring about purchases has dropped significantly compared to last month, while brands continue to run a series of strong promotions to stimulate demand.

“After a period of heating up due to expectations about policies restricting gasoline motorbikes in Hanoi, customers have returned to a wait-and-see attitude, so inquiries have fallen quite sharply compared to last month,” a salesperson at a Honda electric motorbike dealer in Cau Giay, Hanoi, shared.

A similar situation is occurring at Dat Bike dealers. Some stores said most of their current work is focused on delivering backlog orders and vehicles customers previously booked, rather than taking many new orders like 1 to 2 months ago.

Market demand is cooling even though electric motorbike prices remain highly attractive due to major discounting campaigns by several manufacturers.

In the Japanese segment, the most notable promotion program belongs to Yamaha Motor for its Yamaha NEO's, with the model maintaining a discount of up to VND15 million in May 2026. The actual transaction price of the Yamaha NEO's now hovers around VND34 to VND34.1 million, depending on the dealer and accompanied gifts, against its listed price of VND49.091 million.

The Yamaha NEO’s features a compact Euro-style design, powered by a Yamaha-developed electric motor and equipped with smartphone connectivity. The vehicle receives praise for its build quality and stable handling. However, its under-seat storage is not overly spacious, and its post-discount price tag remains relatively high compared to conventional gasoline cubs or scooters.

Honda continues to cut about VND5 million for the Honda ICON e:, bringing the actual selling price down to about VND21.4 to VND21.9 million depending on the version. However, this discount is about VND1 million lower than last month, when the model was discounted by up to VND6 million.

Honda ICON e: has a compact, youthful design, suitable for students or female customers. The bike uses a removable battery convenient for home charging. Its strengths are the Honda brand, stable operation, and accessible pricing. However, motor power and range are not particularly outstanding compared to some rivals in the same price range.

Similarly, VinFast continues to maintain a direct 8 percent discount for customers paying in full. For example, the VinFast Vento Neo has a listed price of VND34.9 million. With the 8 percent discount, the actual price drops to about VND32.18 million.

Vento Neo is a sporty electric model with large dimensions, modern design, and full LED lighting. The bike uses a mid-mounted electric motor with belt drive for smooth operation and good urban acceleration. The model’s strengths are smart technologies, good water resistance, and low operating costs. However, the selling price remains significantly higher than many popular gasoline scooters.

Meanwhile, the VinFast Feliz Neo is currently priced at VND26.9 million, and after the 8 percent discount it is about VND24.7 million. Feliz Neo targets mainstream customers with a soft design, wide seat, and large storage. This model suits daily city commuting thanks to low operating costs and wide charging station coverage. Its weakness is acceleration, which is not very strong when carrying heavy loads or traveling long distances.

While many brands push discounts, Dat Bike is currently keeping prices unchanged from last month. However, according to dealers, customer interest in this high-performance electric line has also dropped significantly after the market lost the “policy expectation” factor.

The Dat Bike Weaver++ is currently priced at about VND65.9 million, putting it in the premium electric motorbike segment. The bike uses a 7,000W motor, can reach a top speed of about 90 km/h, and travel up to 200 km per full charge.

Weaver++’s advantages are strong acceleration, responsive performance, and good range. However, the high price and niche design make this model not easily accessible to most mainstream users.

Industry insiders assess that amid weakening purchasing power, promotions will likely continue to be maintained in the near future to stimulate demand and clear inventory on the market.
