Hanoi’s two famous markets are quiet, with slow sales

The two most famous shopping areas of the capital city, Hom and Hang Da markets, are no longer bustling with visitors as in previous years. Some booths have seen sales fall up to 70%.

Hom - Duc Vien Market is located at the intersection of Hue - Tran Xuan Soan - Tran Nhan Tong streets, which is considered the best location in Hanoi compared to other long-standing traditional markets.

Hom Market used to be a very busy trading place, but it is now deserted. 

At 10 am, many kiosks were still closed. A trader said that as the number of visitors on weekdays is modest, many stalls are open in the afternoon or weekend hours only.
