VietNamNet Bridge - Just because of simple reasons, two people in Me Linh Commune, Me Linh district, Hanoi took herbicide to commit suicide.

At around 9:30 am on October 20, Me Linh Commune Police received report of the family of schoolgirl Nguyen Thi L. (born in 1997) that the girl was brought to hospital after she had taken herbicide to commit suicide.

Doctors tried their best but they could not save the 10th-grade student.

According to Tran Van Ly, the commune police chief, the girl is the class president and she was assigned to keep around VND 500,000 ($25) of the class fund. Losing the money, the girl wrote a suicide note and drank herbicide. When her family discovered, it was too late.

In another incident, also in Me Linh Commune, a 34-year-old man named Nguyen Dinh D. also committed suicide with herbicide.

According to the family, about 9am on October 20, D’s mother came home and found her son lying on the bed. She called him but he did not respond. Detecting that the man took herbicide, the family took him to the hospital but he died at 1pm of the same day.

The local police are investigating both incidents.
