Overview of the ceremony.

After the summit, Hanoi would continue to preserve its beautiful impressions left in the eyes of international friends, Chung said at the ceremony on March 4 commending individuals and organizations excelling in preparations for the summit.

According to Chung, Hanoi has successfully hosted the North Korea – US summit in spite of having only nine days for preparation, while news and images about the capital have been reported all over the world through major media outlets.

During the summit, Hanoi had offered its food specialties and arranged transport for foreign reporters at the International Media Center (IMC) for free, which were highly regarded and considered diplomatic cuisine by international friends, Chung added.

The hospitality of Hanoi was made possible by the dedication and goodwill of enterprises and artisans who had volunteered working at the IMC, he stressed.

According to Ngo Van Quy, vice chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, Hanoi considered the North Korea – US summit a valuable opportunity to promote its culture, economic achievements and people to the world.

Throughout this event, Hanoi and Vietnam have shown responsibilities in contributing to the world peace and stability, while the world knows more about the capital’s capability of organizing events of global importance and its friendly, hospitable people.

Hanoi’s efforts have been appreciated by both the US and North Korean delegations, as well as commendation from Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Quy stated.
