People’s Artist/director Anh Tu shared that he would promote the drama stage to young audience via the modern version of Truyen Kieu.

Previously, the drama had been performed in some highschools in Hanoi in late 2016.

After the show, many students showed their interest in the music and lyrics of the songs in the drama.

A representative from Vietnam Drama Theater, the organizer of the show, said that this is a good signal to see young audience showing their interest to traditional theater.

And the application of contemporary music into a classic drama piece still shows good harmony.

The stage will be set up in a simple way with the theme decoration of lotus flower.

The flower will be used during the show to symbolize for different stages of a human being’s life.

Apart from new experiments, the drama will be arranged in the original content of Nguyen Du’s work.

“Truyen Kieu” is not only a story about women in the feudal society but also a forecast about revolutions and resistance in the society.

“The masterpiece still has its values preserved in contemporary society.

Injustice and fighting against bad things are happening in daily life,’ said director Anh Tu.

The show will feature popular comedian Xuan Bac in the role of Ho Ton Hien, artists Diem Huong (Thuy Kieu), Quynh Hoa (Thuy Van), To Dung (Kim Trong), Minh Hieu (So Khanh), and Phuong Nga (Hoan Thu).

The drama will be organized in ten shows from March 1 to 10 at the Vietnam Drama Theater at 1 Trang Tien Street, Hanoi.
