On the evening of June 16, Hanoi was hit by a severe thunderstorm accompanied by strong winds. A representative from Hanoi Green Parks Company reported that the brunt of the storm's impact was felt primarily in Hoang Mai district.

"Heavy rain and strong winds caused 10 trees in Hanoi to fall, including an ancient banyan tree at a temple on Kim Giang street," said the representative. He added that the authorities have since cleared the fallen trees blocking the roads.

Preliminary reports from Hoang Liet ward in Hoang Mai district indicated significant damage in the Linh Dam area, where many trees were uprooted, severely damaging four cars.
