An electric pole in Hanoi.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Si, a senior official of the Hanoi Information and Telecommunications Department said that during the period of 2009-2010, Hanoi buried cables in 32 streets. At present, a project to bury telecom cables is underway in the districts of Long Bien and Cau Giay.

Recently, the Facebook community was stirred up by a photo of an electric pole in Vietnam on the facebook of Bill Gates. Many people commented that this scene is no different "webs." In Vietnam, this is called “overhead rubbish.”

To curb "overhead rubbish," on Tuesday 13 postal, telecommunications and cable television service providers in Hanoi signed a memorandum of understanding to share technical infrastructure, including cables.
