The Vienna Concert series will present three classical music nights at Ho Guom Theatre featuring Austria’s top orchestras and artists.

The program features performances by the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and La Philharmonica  -  an ensemble of six distinguished female musicians from the prestigious Vienna Philharmonic.

This high-profile cultural event is one of the capital's standout international music experiences of the year, bringing to Vietnamese audiences the elegance and brilliance of Vienna’s classical music tradition.

The first evening opens with La Philharmonica, an all-female chamber group formed by elite artists from the Vienna Philharmonic. Their performance blends the finesse of strings and woodwinds in a unique repertoire, including two original pieces composed especially for the ensemble by Tristan Schulze and Georg Breinschmid.

Audiences will enjoy a vibrant mix of classical and contemporary works from composers such as Pauline Viardot, John Williams, Johann Strauss II, Constanze Geiger, Mathilde Kralik, and Josefine Weinlich  -  ranging from romantic opera melodies and cinematic scores to the exuberant rhythms of Vienna’s signature dances.

The second evening, titled Chamber Night by the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, immerses audiences in the majestic atmosphere of 19th-century Vienna.

The program opens with iconic waltzes and polkas by the Strauss family: Johann Strauss II, Eduard Strauss, and Josef Strauss. Highlights include Fledermaus Overture, Mit Extrapost, Wiener Blut, Pizzicato Polka, Tales from the Vienna Woods, and Thunder and Lightning Polka. These timeless compositions defined the grandeur of Viennese ballroom culture  -  elegant, sparkling, and full of life.

After intermission, the audience will journey into the rich musical world of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with his Symphony No. 40 in G Minor, K. 550  -  a masterwork known for its tight structure, lyrical sophistication, and profound emotional depth.

The final evening, Spirit of Vienna, presents a majestic tribute to the classical masters  -  Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven  -  whose works define Vienna’s cultural soul.

The concert begins with two of Mozart’s most celebrated concertos: Violin Concerto No. 4 in D Major, K. 218 and Clarinet Concerto in A Major, K. 622, showcasing the refined elegance of the Viennese Classical period.

Next is Joseph Haydn’s Sinfonia Concertante in B-flat Major, Hob. I:105, an uplifting, spirited piece that radiates energy and joy.

Closing the concert series is Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92, famously described by Richard Wagner as “the apotheosis of the dance.” Its bold rhythms and fiery spirit offer a powerful, rousing finale  -  a vibrant celebration of Vienna’s enduring musical legacy.
