Nearly 60 teams from across the country will take part in the 2012 Vietnam Off-road Cup (VOC) in Hanoi on June 30- July 1.

Fifteen of those teams will compete at the experimental level, 25 at the standard level and 20 as professionals. The experimental race for new drivers is being held for the first time.

The winners of the professional race will receive a cash prize of VND50 million, the runners-up will earn VND15 million, and third place will be given VND5 million. Prizes for the top three teams in the standard level will be VND15 million, VND10 million and VND5 million, respectively.

The VOC is held annually to select the best drivers for regional and international competitions.

It also aims to encourage drivers to become more involved in social, search and rescue, and charitable activities in remote areas and disaster-hit regions.
