In order to preserve and develop craft villages in the spiritual and craft village tourism chain, creating a strong driving force to promote the capital city's cultural industry in the new period, Hanoi will open the Festival of Peach Blossoms, Ornamental Kumquats and Regional OCOP Products for the Spring of Dragon Year 2024 at a ceremony today.
This is part of the programme "Connecting potential - Adding value - Sustainable development" of traditional craft village values in general, honouring the beauty of "Nhat Tan Peach Blossom" and "Tu Lien Kumquat" in Ho Tay District, which is associated with introducing and promoting OCOP products and regional specialties every Tet and Spring.
Standing Deputy Chief of the Hanoi New Rural Construction Coordination Office Nguyen Van Chi said: "Under the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinates with Tay Ho District People's Committee to organise the events to celebrate major holidays of the capital city and Vietnam in 2024.
"This is an opportunity for Hanoi people, domestic and foreign tourists to enjoy and go shopping for the Spring of Dragon Year 2024".

The festival takes place for seven days, including a series of exciting activities and events, including the festival opening ceremony which also honours organisations and individuals who won the 2024 Hanoi Peach Blossom and Kumquat Contest in Tay Ho District. Along with that is a unique art programme, gathering many famous artists on a grand scale stage combined with real-life activities such as: Spring trip to Tet Market; West Lake festival; Experience of the Tet in the past...
At the festival, there will also be displays and introductions of OCOP products, regional specialties that are indispensable in the flavour of Tet with more than 100 booths; peach and kumquat flowers in Tay Ho landscape; flowers, ornamental plants, artistic miniatures, Bamboo Bonsai Art Exhibition "Bamboo Dragon Dance" by Viet Bamboo Bonsai Club.
The display area recreates the Vietnamese Tet space and traditional Tet folk games from traditional craft villages such as: Experiencing the sausage and sausage pounding profession of Tan Uoc commune, hat making Chuong village; Experiencing Bat Trang pottery; Experiencing the “banh chung” wrapping profession of Tranh Khuc craft village...
Coming to the three-region culinary area, in addition to the capital's Tet specialties, diners can experience famous dishes from regions throughout the country. In particular, Dao An Vegetarian Restaurant introduces unique dishes from lotus and Tay Ho specialties for the first time.
The special art programme "Celebrating the Party, Spring, and the Country's Doi Moi (Renewal)" will take place throughout the festival with the participation of many famous artists and actors from domestic art troupes. Along with the mass cultural and artistic movement in Tay Ho District, the participants in the event will help create a happy atmosphere to welcome Tet.
