VietNamNet Bridge - The Hanoi People's Committee plans to advertise on CNN to promote the tourism industry. 

Hanoi opened pedestrian roads around the Hoan Kiem Lake on September 1.

Hanoi Vice Chairman Ngo Van Quy early this week met with several agencies to discuss details of the plan and other measures to promote the city’s tourism industry.

At the meeting, Quy confirmed that tourism is Hanoi’s key economic sector, which had been repeatedly stressed by Hanoi Mayor Nguyen Duc Chung.

Also, the Hanoi Party Committee issued a resolution on tourism development. The city’s leaders said that to attract foreign tourists, advertising on CNN would be an effective measure.

The Hanoi Department of Tourism has been assigned to cooperate with agencies to prepare for the meeting between Hanoi Chairman Chung and the CNN's Business Manager in Southeast Asia.

Hanoi has taken measures to promote tourism: opening more pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem (Sword) Lake and allowing bars in the Old Quarter to open until 2pm during the weekend.
