In the mixed doubles’ final match, Do Tuan Duc and Pham Nhu Thao of Ha Noi beat their teammates Pham Hong Nam and Nguyen Thi Mai Anh to take the title.
In the men’s doubles, Duc and Nam defeated Nguyen Hoang Anh and Tran Quoc Viet of the Ministry of Public Security 21-18, 11-21, 21-17 to take the lead.
In the women’s doubles, Vu Thi Trang and Nguyen Thi Sen of Bac Giang defeated Dinh Thi Phuong Hong and Do Thi Hoai of Thai Binh Province 21-9, 19-21, 21-16 to bag the gold.
In the women’s singles final, Trang of Bac Giang beat Da Nang’s Nguyen Thuy Linh 21-11, 17-21, 21-9.
In the men’s singles final, Viet Nam’s top player, Nguyen Tien Minh of HCM City, crushed his teammate Pham Cao Cuong 21-17, 13-21, 21-15 to earn his 14th title.
According to the Viet Nam Badminton Federation’s General Secretary Le Thanh Sang, the winners earned berths to compete in the Southeast Asian Games in Malaysia this August. Viet Nam hopes to win two bronze medals at the region’s biennial festival.
