VietNamNet Bridge – Ha Noi’s veterinary department has not found any trace of the banned substance salbutamol in samples collected from animal breeding farms and slaughterhouses during inspection in February.

The department had collected 143 urine samples from concentrated slaughterhouses in Thanh Tri, Chuong My, Thanh Oai and Thuong Tin districts as well as from some of the small facilities in other districts with help from concerned agencies, Nguyen Ngoc Son, the department’s deputy head, said.

It had also collected 259 samples for quick tests from animal breeding farms operated by joint venture companies, concentrated breeding areas and animal breeding households.

None of the tested samples showed any trace of salbutamol, Son said.

The 20 samples of pork, chicken and beef that were collected also tested negative for banned substances, he said.

Department officials also inspected disease prevention, quarantine, slaughter control, veterinary hygiene facilities and veterinary drug businesses in districts and detected 83 violations.
