For the first time ever, an international guitar festival known as Alma Hanoi International Festival will take place at Tuoi Tre (Youth) Theatre from October 27-29 in the capital city.
The festival is the idea of guitarist Vu Hien, who worked with Chi Trung, Director of Tuoi Tre (Youth) Theatre to organize the event.
There will be a range of activities during the festival, including a competition, classical guitar performances and knowledge sharing.
The organizers said 26 contestants from Thailand, India and Vietnam have registered for the guitar competition.
The festival will feature famous guitarists from around the world including Hee Hongkim (from the Republic of Korea), Enrique Munoz Teruel (Spain), Nutavut (Thailand), Ekaterina Pushkarenko (Irkutsk), and Le Thu (Bahrain). Representing Vietnam are artists Ngo Dang Quang, Chau Dang Khoa and Vu Hien.
In addition to performing during the festival they will also be on the jury for the guitar competition.
Tuoi Tre (Youth) Theatre has recently organized many music events. Prior to Alma Hanoi International Festival, the theatre introduced a project titled ‘100 years of the Vietnamese music’ program for which the theatre organized a Lam Phuong concert.
