VietNamNet Bridge – Hanoi’s traffic police began imposing fines on motorcycle drivers who carry children of over six years old without a helmet on the morning of April 8. While the parents were busy with the fines, their kids were taken to school by police officers.

After a week of reminding people of wearing helmets for kids, on the morning of April 8 Hanoi’s traffic police began fining people for carrying children without a helmet on their motorcycles in the three inner districts of Ba Dinh, Cau Giay and Dong Da.

At the intersection of Quan Thanh - Thanh Nien, in about 30 minutes (from 6:30 am to 7 am) there were dozens of people being fined for this violation.

In some cases, the fine could make kids go to school late so some traffic police officers took them to school while their parents stayed to pay the fine.
