Vice head of the department Le Thi Thuy Hong said the nursery – Happy Star – was also fined VND10 million (US$430) for operating without a licence and child abuse.
On February 24, a mother who sent her daughter to the nursery shared videos of the kid being slapped very hard by a teacher because she did not want to eat.
After slapping the kid, the teacher forced her to eat. The teacher placed the kid in a corner of the class to avoid being caught by a camera that transfers images to students’ parents.
According to the mother, bruises were seen on the kid’s left cheek when she arrived home the same day. The kid’s parents reported the case to police.
District education official Hong confirmed on Tuesday that 24-year-old teacher Nguyen Thi Hong Hai of the nursery Happy Star slapped the child.
The teacher and the nursery managers apologised to the girl and her family, saying they would take responsibility. The family accepted the apology, according to dantri.com.vn.
