Last week, the company cut down some trees on Doi Can-Buoi roads.

According to residents living here, these trees are between 40 and 50 years old. They said that earlier, many such trees in this area were chopped down for building the beltway No2.

However, city authorities and construction companies have not informed local people about the felling of trees on the streets.

However, Vu Ha, director of Ha Noi Urban Transport Development Project management unit, under the city's Transport Department, said it had reported to the city about the felling of trees on the construction site of beltway No 2's Nhat Tan-Cau Giay route.

The director said construction workers were hurrying to complete the work to serve the traffic demands of the city residents in the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year falling on February 8, 2016).

He said the felling of trees on these roads was approved by the city's Construction Department, and it will be the responsibility of the Ha Noi Park-Green Tree Company to cut them down.

The felling of these old trees is mandatory to ensure the technical requirement of traffic construction and safety of road-users during the time the work is in progress, he said.
