VietNamNet Bridge – Hard Rock Cafe will kick off the local round of Hard Rock International’s BARocker - the company’s first-ever global bartender rock-star bar battle, at 9 p.m. on August 9.

Since May, hundreds of top bartenders from Hard Rock Cafes all over the world have been revved up behind the bar, ready to showcase their unique skills as they aim to be crowned Hard Rock’s best bartender of 2013.

The local contest will feature the cafe’s best bartenders who will be judged by a panel of industry experts, local celebrities and famous faces. Competitors will be judged on several key components, including recipe knowledge, pour testing, accuracy, speed, flair and showmanship.

Following the local rounds, one bartender from each cafe will be selected to represent their city in a competition with other Hard Rock Cafes in their area, with a regional BARocker champion chosen.

Regional champions from around the world will be flown to Orlando, Florida for Hard Rock’s annual Global Conference in January 2014 for the worldwide finals.

The grand prize winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two to their choice of one of Hard Rock’s beautiful all-inclusive resort properties and also have their winning drink featured on Hard Rock’s beverage menu for a limited time.

“This competition will show off our internal Rock stars - our bartenders, who are expecting to improve themselves for providing the better services to our valued Vietnamese customers, tourists and foreigners in this beautiful country. A series of food and beverage promotions will be available during the competition event with our hot DJs joining in the fun,” said Daisy Phuong Vu, general manager of Hard Rock Cafe HCMC, in a statement.
