The HCMC Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) will host a chamber music concert at the Opera House in District 1 on April 19, with local and foreign artists taking part.

The concert will feature the best artists of HBSO, including Meritorious Artist Nguyen Tan Anh (cellist), Tang Thanh Nam (violinist), Dao Nhat Quang (clarinet player), Bui Anh Son (viola artist), Nguyen Truc Thuyen (violinist) and Nguyen Manh Duy Linh (pianist), and three invited guests: Korean pianist Joo Sun Young and harp artist Nana Kinemura, and Japanese pianist Erika Kashima.

HBSO has chosen famous pieces requiring fewer instruments but more emotion, composed by musicians of the Romantic period, including Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Frédéric Chopin and Edvard Grieg and those of the Impressionist period, including Claude Debussy and Arvo Part.

In the first part of the show, the audience can enjoy Edvard Grieg’s Etude “Hommage a Chopin” in F Minor, op.73; Frédéric Chopin’s Nocturne in C sharp Minor; Ludwig van Beethoven’s Sonata for cello and piano No. 3 in A Major op.69; Arvo Part’s Fratres for violin & piano; Gustav Mahler’s Piano Quartet in A Minor. The second part will feature Claude Debussy’s Danses Sacrée et Profane for harp & piano; Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Melodies for violin & piano, op. 42, No. 3 and Robert Schumann’s Piano Quintet in E flat Major, op. 44.

Tickets are priced at VND550,000, VND400,000, VND350,000 and VND200,000. Students pay only VND80,000.
