HCM City People's Committees of its districts and Thu Duc City are requested to actively use local resources to support rent for employees in accordance with regulations.
Thu Duc City will be offered more than VND186 billion, District 7 more than VND112 billion, District 1 more than VND102 billion and Binh Tan District nearly VND108. The remaining localities will also be provided with an amount from VND788 million to VND85.6 billion.
The districts and Thu Duc City will continue to use additional city budget for projects in case of insufficient local resources and be responsible for the management, use and settlement of budget funds under the guidance of the Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and the direction of the People's Committee of HCM City.
After completing the payment of rent support for employees, districts and Thu Duc City are responsible for reporting the implementation results to the Department of Finance, which will later send the results to the city's People's Committee.
If the additional funds are not used up, refund procedures shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Law on State Budget.
The city Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs will guide relevant authorities to determine the beneficiaries and the level of support.
Up to now, the whole city has 15,383 units and businesses that carry out procedures to confirm social insurance for more than 500,000 employees who are entitled to the policy.
Of this number of employees, more than 478,800 employees are currently working in 12,500 units while 21,500 people have just returned to the labour market at more than 2,900 firms.
According to the Prime Minister, employees will be given a support of VND500,000 per month, while those who have just returned to the labour market will be supported VND1 million per month.
The maximum support time is three months and the time limit for units and enterprises to submit their dossiers to the Social Insurance Agency of HCM City is August 15th at the latest.
