VietNamNet Bridge – A gala to be performed by the HCM City Ballet and Symphony Orchestra (HBSO) on Sunday at the HCM City Opera House will feature contemporary dance, symphony music and singing about love for the country and people of Viet Nam, according to a release.

Some of the works in Melody of the Motherland were created recently by some musicians and choreographers who have made remarkable contributions to the country's art.

The release says "The vocal part is attractive with songs by leading Vietnamese musicians" like Huy Du, Ho Bac, Tran Tien, and Meritorious Artist Tran Vuong Thach performed by Meritorious Artist Hong Vy, Pham Thi Duyen Huyen, Tran Duy Linh, the HBSO Choir, and others.

Symphony Truong Son to be performed by the HBSO Symphony Orchestra is a homage by musician Vu Viet Anh to his father and others who fought and lay down their lives on Truong Son Range.

"The symphony, which debuted last December, was deeply appreciated by experts and audiences."

Contemporary dance Touching the Past by choreographer brothers Nguyen Phuc Hai and Nguyen Phuc Hung, which was first performed in July 2013, is about the problems in the lives of the younger generations. It will be performed by the HBSO Ballet.

The show will be conducted by Tran Nhat Minh.

Tickets costing VND 550,000, 400,000, 350,000, and 200,000 – and VND 80,000 for students – are available at the venue in District 1.
