The 51-seat CNG buses have been deployed on route 45 (District 8–Ben Thanh–Mien Dong Station) replacing old diesel buses.

Fifteen of the new diesel buses, all 40-seaters, are being used on route 70 (Tan Quy – Ben Suc), and the rest, slightly larger, are in use on route 59 (District 8–Nga Tu Ga).

The existing buses were around 10 years old.

This is part of the city’s extensive plans to encourage people to use public transportation.
