The municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism have issued regulations on the overseas travel of performing artists.

Vietnamese artists Quoc Co and Quoc Nghiep performed in Spain in 2021

Under the regulations, artists would only be allowed to travel abroad after receiving management agency permission. They are prohibited from staying in foreign countries and territories longer than the permitted time and using state budget spending for private purposes.

Artists have to conform to the laws of Vietnam and the countries they visit and maintain the image of the country while abroad.

In case of needing an extension for their stay abroad, artists have to submit their proposal to the department’s Legal Affairs Division for consideration.

Musician Ho Hoai Anh and Actor Hong Dang recently travelled abroad without seeking approval from their management agency. They both faced sexual abuse accusations in Spain.
