Ho Chi Minh City encourages and creates favourable conditions for foreign investors, including those from the US, to do business in the country’s southern economic hub, said the city’s senior official.

Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Le Thanh Hai made the statement during a meeting with US Consul General to the city Rena Bitter on July 3.

He congratulated the Consul General on the 239th Independence Day of the United States (July 4) and highly spoke of the fruitful results of cooperation in various fields between Vietnam and the US over the past 20 years.

Highlighting the twining ties between HCM City and San Francisco, Hai suggested increasing collaboration and connectivity between localities of Vietnam and the US along with the two countries’ cooperation, thus deepening bilateral relations.

On her part, Rena Bitter highly valued cooperative achievements in the fields of the economy, climate change adaption, education and training.

Many US major technology companies have been invested in Vietnam, she added.
