Their elections took place at the 15th session of the 10th HCMC People’s Council held today morning (May 19).
At the session, Phan Van Mai, deputy secretary of the HCMC Party Committee and chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, proposed electing Thuy and Hai as vice chairpersons of the city’s People’s Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
At the council session, 78 out of 85 council members voted for Tran Thi Dieu Thuy and all the 85 council members present approved Duong Ngoc Hai as new vice chairman of the city.
Earlier at the session, the council had relieved Duong Anh Duc and Ngo Minh Chau from their posts as vice chairpersons of the city’s People’s Committee due to their new assignments. The HCMC Party Committee assigned Duc to the post of secretary of District 1’s Party Committee, and Chau to the post of head of the Internal Affairs Commission of the HCMC Party Committee.
Therefore, the current standing board of the HCMC People’s Committee consists of Chairman Phan Van Mai, and five vice chairpersons: Vo Van Hoan, Bui Xuan Cuong, Nguyen Van Dung, Tran Thi Dieu Thuy and Duong Ngoc Hai.
