VietNamNet Bridge – Chess grandmaster and world number 25 Le Quang Liem is among the seven people named for this year's HCM City Outstanding Young Citizen Award by the awards council on Sunday.

Brothers Giang Quoc Co and Giang Quoc Nghiep of the HCM City Circus Troupe are among other popular winners of the award given away by the HCM City Communist Youth Union.

Vo Quoc Dat, a police officer in the HCM City Public Security Department who has investigated hundreds of criminal cases and arrested more than 50 dangerous criminals, Nguyen Anh Truong, deputy head of the Tam Binh Children Support Centre's Health Office in Thu Duc District, who has dedicated her life to caring for children living with HIV, Tat Ha My Linh, a student at Saigontourist Tourism and Hospitality Vocational School and winner of the third prize at the ASEAN Skills Competition in Thailand last year, and Nguyen Nhat Quang, a student at the Lac Hong Junior High School in District 10 and an IT whiz kid are the others chosen from among 102 nominees.

The awards will be given away at a ceremony to be held on January 1.
