The organising board said at a press conference on November 12 that the event, to be jointly held by the Ministry of Public Security and Japan’s Mainichi newspaper, will start with a ceremony and a street parade from Ho Chi Minh Opera House along the Dong Khoi-Ton Duc Thang-Nguyen Hue route.
The main concert will entertain audience on the afternoon of November 15 at Hoa Binh theatre.
This is the second time the music festival has been organised in Vietnam, after the first in Hanoi in 2011. The 60-strong Vietnam Police Band will represent Vietnam during this year’s concert.
Deputy head of the Ministry of Public Security’s External Relations Agency Vu Ngoc Lan said that the event will help intensify cooperation between Vietnam and participating countries while promoting the image of Vietnamese police in the international arena.
Initiated by the Mainichi newspaper, the World Police Band Concert has been organised annually since 1996 in numerous countries.
